"Everything will be fine, a future we never dreamed of awaits us. I can see that clearly. An earthly paradise at first glance, a happy future: we'll have three cars here, a swimming pool with air conditioning, and we'll have a telephone installed in the barn. And the whole world will wonder what we Czechs are all about! We won't get lost anymore, especially now that we have one foot in Europe!"
PINKBUS Hezky Česky continues the successful format of PINKBUS Slovak and žiadny iný! As the name suggests, this time the focus will be on Czech social and political topics – whether it's world-famous national stereotypes or more serious issues such as the housing crisis, the situation on the labor market, or growing nationalism and racism. In the spirit of the legacy and tradition of legendary Prague travesty shows, the platform once again raises the bar for the cabaret and drag genres. You can look forward to opera, country, and folklore performed by renowned Czech and Slovak artists.
The heart of the show will belong to the icons of the platform – Martin Talaga's Venice is a must, and Tomáš "Grófka" Procházka returns to the stage to take over the imaginary scepter from Venice, bringing a classic travesty figure inspired by the icons of Czech culture Helena Růžičková and Jiřina Bohdalová.
Dust off your sandals, wash your socks, and get ready to dance!
The program was prepared by the PiNKBUS ensemble. The PiNKBUS project is a new platform that primarily supports young queer artists and brings a new wave of creativity to the Czech Republic. During these composed evenings, the creators managed to bring together the underground queer scene and established professional artists, and a truly diverse range of artists from all fields took turns on stage. PiNKBUS continues the tradition of Prague cabarets and variety shows and spices it up with a dose of the rising trend – drag queens. The PiNKBUS project opens a discussion on the most current topics in today's society, such as sexuality, nudity, freedom, physicality, and the cult of beauty. The creators are increasingly convinced of the need to build a platform for the queer art scene. Creating a safe space that spreads awareness and connects people is more important than ever before.
Martin Talaga, creator (director and concept) and performer in Pink Bus Hezky česky, won the 2025 Thalia Award in the Alternative Theater category for his performance in the production PiNKBUS slovenský a žiadny iný.
